Terms
Last updated 2 November 2026.
These are the terms for ACA Study Partner. "we", "us" and "our" mean Jags Journey Limited, trading as ACA Study Partner. By joining or buying, you agree to them.
Who we are
ACA Study Partner is a trading name of Jags Journey Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16500772. Registered office: Union House, 111 New Union Street, Coventry CV1 2NT. Email: [email protected].
ACA Study Partner is for people aged 18 or over. When you sign up or join, you tick a box to say you're 18 or over, and another to say you agree to these terms.
Membership and prices
- Free trial. If you start by 8pm UK time on Wednesday 11 November 2026, you get 14 days free, starting when you sign up. No card is needed and nothing is charged automatically. When the 14 days end, the app locks until you choose to subscribe. It's one free trial per email. After that deadline there's no free trial, unless we offer a new one.
- Founding price. If you started your free trial by that deadline, and you subscribe while it runs, your first month is £25 (a £20 joining fee + £5), then £5 a month. Or pay yearly: £74 today (£25 + £49), then £49 a year. This is our introductory price. It stays while you stay a member.
- Everyone else. Without a free trial, or if you subscribe after your free trial ends, it's £37 for your first month (a £27 joining fee + £10), then £10 a month. Or pay yearly: £129 today (£37 + £92), then £92 a year.
- Joining fee. You pay it once, when you subscribe. It's part of that first payment, which also covers your first month or year.
- Your payments. Your next payment is taken one month (or one year, if you pay yearly) after you subscribe, and then on that date each month or year. If a month is shorter, it's taken on that month's last day. The checkout shows the exact date before you pay.
- Your price stays yours. If you're a founding member, your price stays the same while you stay a member without a break.
- Everyone else's price. If you're paying £10 a month or £92 a year, it stays the same while you stay a member without a break, unless we need to change it. If we do, we'll tell you at least 30 days before your next payment, and you can cancel before then.
- Once you subscribe, your membership renews automatically until you cancel. A free trial never renews or charges you.
- Where we sell. If you're in the EU you can start the free trial and try the app, but we can't take payment from you yet, because of EU VAT rules. If your billing address is in the EU we can't take your payment, and if one gets through we'll cancel it and refund you. Everyone else, anywhere in the world, is welcome.
- Plan checks. During early access we personally check a sample of plans, and any plan a student flags. You can flag yours any time with Flag my plan.
Cancelling
- Cancel any time from Settings › Account › Manage my membership. Your membership then ends at the end of the month (or year) you've already paid for, and nothing more is taken.
- You keep full access until that date. Cancelling doesn't refund the rest of that month or year (see "Refunds" below).
- After that, or when your 14 free days end, the app locks. You can't open your planner (your plan, tracker, notes and flashcards), the Success Guide, unseen blogs or your calendar feed until you subscribe or rejoin. You can always use Download my data from the locked screen.
- We keep your data for 3 years after a paid membership ends, without changing it, so if you rejoin, everything comes back. If you only had the free trial and never paid, we keep it for 12 months after the trial ends. If you'd like a copy in that time, use Download my data on the locked screen, or email [email protected].
- Anything you bought from the shop stays yours, and you can still delete your own posts.
- You can rejoin any time with the Rejoin button. Rejoining starts a new membership at the price on offer then, and that includes the joining fee again.
- If a payment fails, you keep access while Stripe tries your card again for a short while. If it still doesn't go through, the membership ends, as if you'd cancelled.
Refunds
Your study plan is made for you, so once it's built, payments aren't refundable. If you haven't built it yet, you can cancel within 14 days of paying for a full refund. If something's wrong with the app, we'll fix it or refund you. This doesn't affect your legal rights.
When you subscribe we ask you to tick a separate box to say you want your membership to start straight away, and that you understand that if your plan's already built, you can't cancel for a refund. Without that tick you can't pay.
- If we refund you. A refund of a whole payment ends your membership straight away, and so does a chargeback. The app locks, your data is kept as in "Cancelling", and you can rejoin.
- Changing your mind: cancel any time and you won't be charged again. Your access runs to the end of the month or year you've paid for.
- Free trial. Nothing is taken during or at the end of your free trial, so there's nothing to cancel or refund. If you don't subscribe, the app locks.
- Shop items can't be refunded once you've bought them.
- This doesn't affect your rights if something doesn't work as described (below).
Something not right?
If something you paid for doesn't work as described, tell us and we'll fix it, replace it or refund you. That's your legal right, and nothing in these terms changes it.
Shop items
Video packs, course notes and other extras, when they're available, are bought once and stay yours for as long as ACA Study Partner runs, even if your membership ends. They're for your own study only.
One person, two devices
Your membership is for you. You can be logged in on up to two devices at once. Sharing your login or our content (the Success Guide, unseen blogs, videos, notes) isn't allowed, and we may close an account that does.
Our content
The Success Guide, blogs, videos, plans, shop notes and everything else we've made for ACA Study Partner belong to us or the people who license them to us. You can use them for your own study. ICAEW's own materials, such as the Question Bank, belong to ICAEW.
Using the app properly
ACA Study Partner is for planning and supporting your own ACA study, and that's all it's meant for. Don't try to break, copy, scrape or get around the app or its limits, and don't use it for anything it isn't meant for. We may close an account that does, and we're not responsible for problems caused by using it that way.
Referrals and affiliates
These aren't running at the moment. If we start them, these rules apply.
- If a friend joins with your link, you get the reward shown in the app once their first payment goes through. You can't refer yourself.
- Affiliates earn the share agreed with us on payments from people who join or buy through their link, for the period agreed. Refunded payments don't count. We pay monthly, 14 days after the payment, in case of a chargeback.
- We can change or end the referral scheme. Rewards already earned are kept.
Questions and emails
We may ask you the odd optional question, like why you joined or why you left. You never have to answer, and skipping one doesn't affect your membership or how you cancel. We use your answers to improve the app. Our [privacy policy](privacy.html) says what we keep.
We send emails about your account, like your welcome email, your membership confirmation and free trial reminders. You can ask us to stop trial reminders any time. Using the app doesn't add you to any marketing list, including Success Subtext.
Your work and your tips
- Your plan, notes, flashcards, screenshots and journal are yours and private to you.
- When you share a study tip, it stays yours, and you let us show it to other members, and edit it for length or clarity. Posts go up automatically after a check. Anything the check flags waits for us to read. Tips are shown as from "Student", never your name. Please be kind, and don't share anything that belongs to someone else, such as exam questions.
What you post
This covers anything you post for other members to see, like tips and ideas.
- Use your own words.
- Don't post text from a live exam, the Question Bank or a tuition provider's materials.
- Nothing unlawful or abusive.
- We can remove anything you post.
- Ideas appear to other members once they've passed the same check. They see the idea, not your name, unless you add your first name to show with it.
- Reporting a post. Tap Report on any tip or idea. We won't tell anyone who reported it. A post with three reports is hidden until we've looked at it.
- Deleting your post. You can delete your own posts any time in Settings › Help and feedback › Your posts. If your membership has ended, Your posts is on the locked screen.
- If you think we got it wrong. If we remove your post or hold it back and you think that's wrong, tell us in Settings › Help and feedback › Something not right?, or email [email protected]. We'll reply within 5 working days.
Your notes and screenshots
Notes and screenshots are for your own private study. You must have the right to use what you add, so please don't upload material you aren't allowed to copy.
If something shouldn't be here
If you think something in ACA Study Partner infringes your rights or is harmful, email [email protected] and tell us what it is and where. We'll look at it and act promptly, which can mean taking it down.
Ask, Quiz me and stories (AI)
These AI features aren't switched on yet. We'll tell you before they are. When they're available, answers are written by AI and can be wrong, so check anything important against ICAEW's official materials.
Study help, not a guarantee
ACA Study Partner helps you plan and study. It isn't run by, affiliated with or endorsed by ICAEW or any tuition provider, and it doesn't replace your tuition provider. Plans and tips can be wrong, so always check against ICAEW's official materials. Passing is down to the work you put in, and we can't promise a result.
Everything here, Ask included, is guidance to help you plan and study. It isn't professional, tax, medical or ICAEW advice, and it doesn't replace your ICAEW training file, your employer's or tuition provider's requirements, or anything else you have to complete for ICAEW. Always check exam dates and rules with ICAEW. AI can be wrong, so check anything technical in your study manual.
Things we're responsible for
We'll run ACA Study Partner with reasonable care and skill. Nothing here limits your legal rights as a consumer. We're not responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen, or for problems caused by things outside our control.
Your plan is a suggestion. You decide how to use it, and you can change, move or skip anything in it. Alerts and "on track" messages are a guide based on what you've logged. They can't tell you whether you'll pass, and being on track doesn't mean you will.
Your exam result depends on many things outside our control, so we're not responsible for an exam result, a resit fee, or any effect on your training contract or job. In any event, the most we'd ever owe you is what you've paid us in the last 12 months. None of this limits anything the law says we can't limit, such as liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms. If anything important changes, we'll tell you first. You can download a copy of your data any time from the Download my data button in Settings › Account. If your membership has ended, use the same button on the locked screen, or email [email protected] and we'll send you a copy. If we ever close ACA Study Partner, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice, so you have time to do that, and a refund for any time you've paid for and not had.
Complaints
If you're not happy with something, email [email protected] and tell us what's gone wrong. We'll reply within 5 working days. We'll look into it, tell you what we've found and what we'll do about it. If we can't sort it out, you can go to your local Trading Standards or Citizens Advice.
The law
These terms are under the law of England and Wales.
